Am so lovink Josh Sortelli right now:
"With that disclaimer out of the way, I think it is a safe time to bring up the fact that I finally got to see the Lord of the Rings in the theater. Shannon and I had a heck of a time finding the right moment to sit though a 3 1/2 hour movie together, and man, let me tell you, that movie was great but it sure could have been about an hour shorter. I would have left all that freaking homoerotic hobbit drama on the cutting room floor. I don't ever want to see Frodo spend another second gazing lovingly at Samwise from across the room while Pippin and Merry jump around on the bed squealing like girls. Okay? LEGOLAS comes out looking manly in that scene. I'd like all of my testosterone back, Mr. Jackson."

That's about the best commentary to Return of the King I ever saw anyone write (even if he's way late in seeing the movie). Most people just complain about the oliphaunt scene being fake. You know the "that still counts as one!" thing which is put in there in order to entertain low-iq people who need the corny Steve Martin-like humour to make a movie worthwhile; the people who see movies like Scary Movie and want to see it again. They're funny, but only for about half a nanosecond.
Okay, I enjoyed Scary Movie too, but only because it had such a high dumb Doh! -rating. And I don't think I want to see it again.

I still didn't see that movie, and I still feel I have to.
But everyone I hear says the hobbit/-and-they-lived-happily-ever-after scenes are horible.
Should I just go and see it and leave the theatre 30 minutes before the movie ends?

The movie is good.
Just a bit too sappy at times.

Well, actually I rather enjoyed the "that still counts as one" comment. But luckily I don't count myself to the high-IQ elite :D
( <*off to see Dumb & Dumber*> )

My favorite scene there still is the one where Pippin sings to Denethor, while his son gets slaughtered, and Gandalf sitting, staring at a pile of rubbish
