About Terry Pratchett: I read one book of his and I admire his style, and wit. He keeps track of his multiple storylines, and I intend to read more of him.
About Jane Austen: great great great books. I love that age, with all of it's complex language.
About Stephen King: Where's the Shining?! Only one of his books is on this list!?
About Literature: I can only remember reading the Harry Potters and Roald Dahls in Dutch, the rest of these books I, ofcourse, read in English.
I would also like to point out that just because I haven't read all of the MAJOR titles on this list, doesn't mean I haven't read any good literature. Think of Dutch literature: Eline Vere, Bint (Bordewijk), Giphart, De Kleine Johannes...the list goes on and on...
And one last remark: there's no SHAKESPEARE on this list. I loved Hamlet and the Merchant of Venice. I'd also like to see "A dry white season" by Andre Brink and "Love story" by Erich Segal on this list. Good books. Very good books.
