Bus = Bad

The bus commute is killing me and my social life. Yesterday it took me nearly two hours to get home. I can probably walk it faster than that!

When I finally got home, NoKey had dinner ready (yay!) and we ate it in front of Xine, which refused to play the DVD because Marktplaats.nl had some tune playing over the same audio device. I couldn't lift a finger for the rest of the evening. I went to bed at half past nine.

I hate buses. Not only do they make me nauseated, they also drain me.
Here's to hoping I find a recumbent bicycle soon. Only one more bus ride to go...

Ok, this might sound really strange coming from someone who makes costumes for a hobby, but I could use your help.

As of Monday I hope to be cycling to work. Yay! As of Monday, this presents me with a wardrobe challenge. After all, I'm in the office and I'm supposed to look a little bit like I know how to iron a blouse. I can't really stroll in in my yoga pants and polo shirt and expect everyone to not notice the sport shoes. But I really do need to wear sporty clothes on my bicycle because it will help with the nekkid-ness sweating.

I hope to have space for a small bag, and really: linen does fold rather small (if not crease-free). A stick of deodorant, a flask of water, my cell phone, mp3-player, wallet. The change of clothes will be the most important.

I don't really feel like dashing into the bathroom as soon as I get to work and changing in one of the stalls. Since the air conditioning in the building is pretty severe for Dutch standards, nearing American ones (I was cold while it was 30+°C outside!), I guess I could just add the fancy clothes over my sportswear. I plan on wearing short-legged cycling trousers. I don't think my yoga-like pants will work, because they might get caught in the chain.

So: what do I wear over my sports clothes? The easiest, and so far only, thing I've come up with is wrap-pants. I love this image of them.
I need more: handy pants, lovely blouses. For autumn I'll probably change out of the shirt I cycle in and wear a clean, pretty longsleeve, and I love blouses. Let me hear your ideas!

(What it all boils down to is: "The weekend's coming up and I need inspiration to sew")
