Nov. 27th, 2003

Livejournal does not agree with me. It does not agree with Netscape. And it does seem to agree with Konqueror. Well, when it comes to the costomization. Not when it comes to the spiffy new Java-appleted top bar where you can mouse-over your way through a menu. Only Netscape understands that. But when I try to customize my journal looks, suddenly Netscape can't remember my settings.
It took me three tries in three seperate days (because it damn well ticks me off when a browser does not work) to get the journal to look this way. Everwhite. Luckily, in everwhite, the dates (as in the spiffy "November 27th, 2003 at the top of this post) is just like the background, completely white. Hence, it is invisible. So I had to use a colour overwrite. But I also use style overwrites because I want the link list to be displayed, 40 entries on my journal and 40 on my friends page, and I want the little box with the picture etc. to be on the right. Well, those overwrites are hard to accoplish if they're in two different java appleted tab menu's and Netscape can't remember what's in the one menu if you go to the other.

Good. Now that we have the style going and the colours are...not what I intended but acceptable. I have no further desire to work on my livejournal's looks until A) white begins to bore me [ahhh it's so cleaaannnn!!!] B) I have a payed account or C) when Konqueror accepts/understands Livejournal or D) When Livejournal accepts/understands any browser I might use or D) whenever Livejournal gets easier on someone.

Three days to go to ready Sword & Ink for publication. Pages done: 15. Total pages: 20. But that doesn't say anything. The things I still need to do are the recipe page (easy), the article pages (hard) and write an editorial (Eeek!). And I'm not talking about the pictures I need to make but probably can't make here.

But all in all, it's fun working on Sword & Ink, especially on a working computer. With functioning internet. It's fun ftp'ing with nothing but a shell console. It is! And now I've come fully to terms with why folder names and file names should NOT have spaces. *grin*
In any case, I'm working and I feel fine. My back is better today. My neck and shoulders were very sore this morning, but they've come to terms with me, it seems. Or it's a cease-fire. That's a possibility too. I hope it'll all be over soon.
In other news, I'm falling ill with angina or a regular flu. Whee!

For all you joke-lovers out there: a fun blonde joke.

Did I mention I'm doing Sword & Ink by hand?
As in: it's Kwrite and me against the typo-daemon.
Kwrite = Notepad
