Today, I’ll do the interview with my great-aunt Otty, mrs Ottolien vd Elshout. It will be funfunfun! I’m really looking forward to it. The questions are pre-given, all I have to do is ask and write. Which doesn’t really make it my interview anymore but still.

I’ve cleaned a couple of small glass jars, and I hope to harvest some of my oregano and rosemary for it somewhere this week. The oreganoplant I have is really growing large and it gets uglier every time I look at it. Also, the deep green it used to be, is slowly turning palegreen, a bit more yellow. I think it’s not enjoying my windowside, where it’s standing. Either that, or it’s becoming too large.

Hopefully, Erik, the boyfriend of Marjolein, will hang a shelf on my wall, where I can store all of my herbs and jars and gemstones. My own little Wicca-shelf.
The flowers I bought Friday are finally blossoming, they really look nice, but they’re not giving off any scent. Which is too bad because I love the smell of flowers. So far, I have only three plants that will (hopefully) blossom, one of them is my chives plant, which is quite content with his place on my bookcase I think. And yes, sometimes I can feel my plants. A few days back I heard (felt) the trees singing.

My mother sent me a card for my birthday already. Besides TommyCee, she’s the first to send one, way too early still ofcourse, but I think she was afraid she’d forget to send one. She’s on her way to Paris with the Roparun right now, they started this morning. I wonder how that is. It must be quite an experience, and I admire her for it.

It was ever so much fun, doing the interview with Aunt Otty. She was such a sweet old lady, with humour. Born in 1927, she will vote List Pim Fortuyn (the right wing politician who was shot last Monday, considered to be an extremist). We also discussed culture, life in Indonesia, and my grandmother, whom I never knew.

She offered to drop me off at the train station, and I got the 16.15 train. In the train to Ede, it was crowded and hot, and I almost fainted, which was quite a strange experience. One moment I was standing up to let people get out of the train, the next I noticed I couldn’t see, and my eyesight was returning to me slowly. I had eaten and drank enough that day so I think it was the heat in combination with a lack of fresh air and the quick movement. I was home at six and bought some stuff to take with me on my trip to Paris (next to money for small souvenirs (if any) and a sleepingbag and airmatrass, that is).
