A Different Approach to Spam

janestarzSpammers are getting smarter each day. This is what I just received in my inbox. If the LARGE CAPITALS in the subject weren't a clue, the fact that it was a French text in Times New Roman with YELLOW BACKGROUND certainly was.
As I'm tres horrible in French, I ran it through Babelfish. It didn't quite make meat and potatoes out of it, but I can hazard a guess to the actual content. Basically, the e-mail tells me to come forward if I've been swindled by people from Ivory Coast because the Ivory Coast government and Western Union have been meeting and want to put a stop to these outrageous practices since it's bad for their country's image. (Never mind the other news that's been coming out of the Ivory Coast these days...)
After several meetings the western union and the government made several provisions in order to stop these badly healthy intrigues which does not give an good image of the country and its potentials investors to see the backers.
The text is quite mangled by Babelfish, but you get the gist. Here's more:
VARIOUS DECISIONS 1- All people having summers victim d' one swindles via l' Internet is advised to contact us the direction so d' to be to refund of its goods. 2- The government of the Ivory Coast offers to you (55.000, 00 euros).
Oh, I get fifty-five thousand euros. That's alright then.
Be wary of the too beautiful offers or opportunities to be true. Do not pay your purchases carried out on sites d' online auctions by l' intermediary d' a service of d' transfer; money. N' never send d' money to regulate the taxes or the lot charges gained by the means of foreign lotteries.
I guess they're warning me for their own scam... it's too good to be true!
