Armoured plans, continued

I've spoiled you guys with posting pictures of my work each time. Now you kind of expect it. Well, just assume that when I don't post pictures, there's a good reason for it too. Like: me not taking my good camera along and having to take pictures with crappy camera phone that doesn't do bad lighting conditions very well. Aight?

But lucky for you peeps, Nachtvisser obliged you, you spoiled kids.


The three armours we made last weekend.

But the adventure doesn't end there! We'll contine on. Because yesterday I ran into a pile of red leather couches standing outside for the trash-man. Fire-truck red. Or should I say: Roodlaarzen Red?


Half an hour with a knife later, these babies were stripped!

I'm guessing this means we'll be working on Roodlaarzen armours ...this weekend? Any takers? We start at 11.

A girlfriend of mine in Amsterdam once skinned a couch we found in the trash. The resulting skirt was very cute.

Glad to hear couches still give up their skins for creative folk!

I was considering sewing myself a patchwork skirt from this leather. It's very supple and still looks good. But Maerquin needs it more, so perhaps I can salvage some of the scraps for personal use.

It's actually a pretty common thing to do for larpers around here. The city can send around a truck to pick up larger trash, and people have to leave their furniture they want to dispose of on the sidewalk. That's where I found this stuff too.
Tricky to watch for faux leather though... it looks almost identical.
