Today I spent the day at Nachtvisser's place to make armours. We have a similar working strategy, which seems to be: glue it until it stops moving, then cut it until it's in the right shape, and then grommet the living daylight out of it. If there's time, have coffee. And blame the dog for anything that you drop on the floor.

The € 5,- a hide leather I found at Strieder was reinforced with some of the cotton I got for Beriadanwen's coat. Some Bison Tix helped to stabilise everything, and then we continued to cut out the pieces of leather. Three hides helped us build three armours.

The first armour got some green fur edging around the front opening. It's a hideous fur of the What-The-Hell-Was-I-Thinking?!-kind (and not even the Tix-induced high could change that!). Even one meter of this stuff is horrible. And why, you ask me? Well, it's got glitter. Any way, added fur, and then some front buckles added and armour 1 was done.

The second armour got a small diamond of scales attached to the front. I love this one, it's got my name all over it. The brass scales I used (just nine of them) have been attached by four small leather straps just under the neckline. The gold-toned rivets match the brass well.
And that was armour 2 done!

The last armour was plain, but then we rummaged through the bags of scraps I had brought and Nachtvisser found a strip of green suede NoKey once made chaps out of. He edged the armour's neckline in suede and we used the rest for a few tribals. Even though I forgot to mirror the design, we paid some extra attention to the back and finished off with a million rivets to get the tribals to stay in place.
And that was armour 3 done!

A day well-spent, I'd say, and I rifled through the two bags of leather I'd brought to see what I wanted to keep and what could be donated. The four-year-old tabi-project of NoKey earned a one-way trip into dev/null, the brown supple leather went back home with me, and the remains of blue and white couch leather stayed at Nachtvisser's for another Maerquin-donated armour project.

These three will find a good home in the Maerquin monstercrew, and will match anything from pretentious farmer to Roodlaars, and to be honest: you can't be bothered about just 15 bucks of leather and some grommets!

I didn't bring my camera and Nachtvisser is having some virus issues, so no pics yet.

It was a frantic day indeed yesterday. Bits and peaces flying across the room while we where busey cutting, nailing, glueing. Fluffy fur met leather met brass nails.
I send Janestarz the pics. They should be posted later on.
