After a few twists and turns we found the street where Axel lived and he was already waiting for us outside. "Hi!" he said cheerfully as he climbed into the car.
I put the car in first gear and drove off. A nasty grinding sound greeted me from the rear left tire.
"That doesn't sound so good..." NoKey said.

I pulled over in the narrow street that was filled with parked cars. Axel and Twilight switched seats, distributing the weight left/right more evenly. I tried again, but the sound returned as I pulled out again (and the car hung back because of the acceleration).

Nothing wrong with the rear tire, except that it scratched the inside of the tire housing. Another turnabout of switching seats later, Axel sat next to me in the front and the lighter people were in the back. Carefully pulling out of the parking spot, the sound seemed to be gone for a while, but with all the speed bumps in the road (never mind right turns!) the sound kept returning for bits and scrapes.

"Guys, I'm not going onto the highway with this. I'm so sorry."
We drove to Twi's place very, very slowly, cringing with each scraping sound as I maneuvred around pot holes, speed bumps and turns very carefully. I hit the warning lights near Twi's house and pulled over so he and Axel could get out and take his car to the Anarquendor meet.

I'll see about calling the lease company (and a garage) in the morning....I should think even little Iota should be able to pull 400 kilo's easily, and that front left tire still slowly empties itself. It's definitely time for a touch-up!

ETA (Monday): According to the mighty Google, the Aygo has a max loading capacity of 415 kilo's. So we were probably just too heavy. Still have to phone Athlon for my tire problem though.
