Autumn cleaning/gardening
Nov. 6th, 2010 01:46 pmMr. Bamboo has gotten a waist-line correcting surgery. He didn't like it, because it was painful. NoKey didn't like it, because the trash bag was instantly full and heavy. But I liked it, not because I enjoy inflicting pain on plants but because now the sun can come inside again!
Mr. Bamboo and Mrs. Ficus have proceeded to be showered. Seperately, I might add. They enjoyed that!
The balcony has also been cleared. The rubbish from the Sophorica Japonica in front of the building is immense, and it clogs the drain. Add the fallen tomato bits and mud, and you've got a big gooey slush.
I've transplanted the moss that grew in the late Mr.Thyme's pot to Miss Wineberry's pot. It's lovely. The dead leaves, rotten tomatoes and twigs have been thrown out. I've decided against growing more tomatoes next year, since this year's harvest ended up nourishing other plants by decomposing on moist earth -- or being tossed out.
Miss Wineberry's been tied to the balcony (she's such a bad girl! Go shake those branches...) to guide her growth. Also, Little Blackberry's got a new pot. We're ready for winter.
