Marianne's new necklace

I finished this yesterday.



Necklace from anodised aluminium in black and purple in the "stepping stones" weave. Six hematite droplets add a sparkle. Three different ring sizes from The Queen Ring.

This is the new necklace for Marianne, her old one is on the verge of falling apart. I hope it'll match the new stays I'll be making for her. (Fingers crossed I get that done in time for the next event)

It's a pretty shiny droplet in my necklace, and that's about all I know about it ;)

Yes, it is (black/grey). They're small droplets, so the weight isn't too noticeable. Hematite is actually the gem grade form of an iron ore, so the metal makes it heavier than your run of the mill semiprecious stone.

You're quite welcome. It can be classy too. I've seen pieces with swarovski crystals that were quite beautiful. But I agree, the rings themselves can look quite tacky.
