I hate you my muse.

janestarzProduction week is drawing to a close and after finishing the 4 clasps (times 2 sides, times 5 eyelets!) of Pluis' velvet number, and the 19 casings (times 4 holes each) of Jeroen's mayor's coat, I was quite ready to just make myself something simple.
Well, guess who came to "oh gods my shoulder hurts" town? My muse.
Instead of just 'finishing off that light brown velvet, it's been up there forever and it's not such a pretty colour anyway', my muse made me dig through the old stash of fabrics that aren't really my style, flopped it on top of the velvet and the grey fake fur (what was I thinking) and put her hands in her sides in that age-old pose of "well?".
It was good. It was fucking brilliant. It was... vanilla. I have no other words for it. And the worst thing is that this velvet that wasn't really very interesting as it lay on top of the cupboard next to a shade of yellow velvet that clashed so horribly with it, suddenly became the new hit of the season and I wouldn't be surprised if Yves Saint Laurent would call it the new me.
So, there was this light brown velvet, and then there was this eggshell yellow sequined cotton. Believe it or not, it just works together. And my "I'll just make myself something simple" ran away screaming only to be replaced by a workaholic muse going "you know what would be really cool?" which only makes you groan in horror because darnit, she's just so damn right about it all.
And the worst bit? There's going to be handsewing. Lots and lots more of it.
