Market- and city-haul
Aug. 14th, 2010 01:49 pmI had to pick up fabrics for Mayor Raphael's costume. I had planned on a poly-taffeta (that people refuse to believe is not silk, but is sold for three bucks a meter on the market) and a thick cotton but I ended up with a poly-taffeta and a cotton-linnen blend in the perfect chocolate shade of brown.
Here's the list:
The first box of strawberries has already been slaughtered into a smoothie for Steelweaver and Twi, and I'm pondering the fate of the second one now...
Here's the list:
- 5 meters of chocolate brown linen;
- 6 meters of cobalt blue poly-taffeta for piping and lining;
- 10 meters of cobalt blue cord for piping (along with poly-taffeta);
- 3,5 meters of washed flimsy linen which'll be perfect for pyjama's in a light beige;
- nearly 2 meters of same flimsy linen in a slightly darker shade as contrast. It's very pettable. I need pj's!
- 2 meters of khaki-grey linen printed with orange geisha's. It's stunningly Firefly and I adore it;
- 2 pairs of shoulder pads;
- 3 boxes of Prym jeans buttons;
- 2 meters of black interfacing, 2 meters of white interfacing;
- 4 pants-zippers: brown, grey, blue, black;
- Gutermann thread in 6 or 7 colours, including two shades of brown and a vivid orange to sew everything with;
- A subway subscription for a month. Yes, I have a car, but I do my bit for the environment if I can!
- 2 boxes of strawberries (noms!) for € 2,-
