Flail! Flail!
Jul. 29th, 2010 04:28 pmMy car, being of the 'tiny' variety, will never transport all of our stuff to the Summoning. Keffie also needed a ride so in the end NoKey arranged (!!) stuff with Drahkan who would come by our house and load a lot of our stuff in his van before driving to Ommen himself.
So I arranged it so that I would train on Wednesday, keeping my Thursdaynight free and open for dragging stuff down too many flights of stairs et al.
This morning everything went fine. I folded the laundry and we put the folded clothes away so the drawing table was available for packing. There was some maintenance to be done on the gas stove (primus) and I needed to finish the pants I was making. NoKey wanted a new mosquito net and we had lunch at La Place since we went shopping for some last-minute supplies.
After I brought said supplies home NoKey went off to the Gamma or Karwei for the last things for the stoves. I made tea. Packing would shortly commence. Hey, the phone rang.
It was Drahkan, calling to say he would get in his car with Anna_Xanaphia and be at our house in an hour or so.
Cue me flailing about the house trying to get everything in order. I upended the plastic garbage bag that held our tarps to repack them. I added fresh oils to our kitchen supplies. There was frantic flailing, grabbing of clothes, socks, underwear and costume bits everywhere.
After half an hour of this, NoKey came home to find me still flailing and rummaging in cupboards. "I don't have socks or underwear or weapons for you yet. And you need to finish the gas stoves. AND DRAHKAN CALLED AND HE'LL BE HERE IN HALF AN HOUR!"
We sure did some lightning-fast packing and I think we've got everything by now. I must be coming down from my stress-hormone fed adrenaline high. I don't know how I'll get everything down the stairs, but so far Drahkan has failed to arrive and I've even taken a time-out to write a blog about me running around like a crazy person. I always get stressed from packing for a larp.
In light of this, the good news is that I'll very probably not be busy tonight, so there will be weaving and tea.
