Post-puerto update
Jun. 7th, 2010 08:49 amOn Friday I was really stressed out and didn't feel like going to Puerto Diablo at all. I cycled there with NoKey and we brought ice cream for the builders. Once on-site I got into the mood of things and I returned home quickly to pick up my costume and things.
The In Character post will follow soon, once I untangle my brains from my toes and can think clearly again.
Also, the horrible French accent has to go. All the "Oui"s are driving me insane. And NoKey as well. (Not a good thing to sigh en moment supreme, I can tell you, though we had a hearty laugh about it.)
All in all, it was a great weekend with lots of intrigue, even though there were some dead moments for the non-fighters as the English tried to take over New Amsterdam. I am not a fan of the black powder effects that were used, which got really unstable during the midst of the hot Saturday. Some went off by themselves (!) and I saw one go off in someone's face (she was fine, but got a good scare and singed some hair) and in someone's hand (some minor burns, I believe, he cooled it right away).
Pictures will no doubt be up on the Arcana website in a week or two.
I was planning to make this my last Puerto, but events during the weekend unfolded in such a way that I will probably be back next year. Yay!
