Question about a white trench mock-up...
May. 20th, 2010 04:46 pmLast Tuesday I went into town to have coffee with H'Eldaran. We stopped at Selexyz/Donner so I could order two hardcovers of Robert Jordan and we had coffee at the bagels and beans cafe there on the sixth floor. Lovely Espresso Macchiato, which was a true kick in the stomach to wake me up.
In any case, after coffee we traipsed to Schröder and the market. I bought fabric for a new summer coat for myself, which will be a trench coat from the Burda October 2008 issue. Spent way too much money on a lovely blue cotton sateen and a blue linen with flowers for the lining. It's all marvy, but I need to make a mock-up.
At the market I bought a sturdy, larp-worthy cotton for the mock-up. I believe it'll drape similar to the cotton sateen. But it's also perfect for larp.
So basically my question for today is: would anyone be interested in the white mock-up trench I'll be making? It'll function great as a light summer coat or as a lab coat for futuristic larp.
You know, I could just do the zippadeedoodah and mock up the body of the coat and throw it out afterwards when I've checked the fit. Or I could make a good (yet unlined) version of my own coat, which someone else can use later on. I don't mind doing the extra work, since it'll be used well, but it'll take some time to do which means my own coat will be done later.
If you have an opinion, please comment!
ETA: This coat, incidentally
