Sir Jean is dead, long live Sir Jean...
Mar. 20th, 2010 09:06 amIn a most thrilling session of D&D last night we faced one of our greatest foes ... and I held our half-celestial paladin until he was dead. Wouldn't have had it any other way.
It's strange, to always have been the one to say "Nobody dies while I'm around!" and then to allow your mate to bleed out on the sandy floor of the arena. I wouldn't have known for sure, but thankfully a Divine Guidance spell I had helped me out with what to do.
The session was very intense, but big bad Granny is now dead as is Sir Jean, we saved the world, go us! I'm especially pleased with the stunning visuals and looking forward to writing about this session.
Table-top roleplaying can be a drag and I was in two minds about the battleboard we've been using. On one hand it helps to visualise the playing field, on the other it takes away some of the descriptions I'll hear on the tape -- descriptions I need for the book.
This will be a good turning-point for the end of a book, or the start of part II, or some such. But we'll see about that once I get unstuck from chapter 13 and get on with writing the rest already.
Also, if we've been playing until 2am and I didn't get around to any actual sleep until threeish, then why was I awake at 8.08 am?
