We did some maintenance on our bikes today. I'm already done, but NoKey's still busy. Some water had condensed in one of the main somethings of his electronic indicator lights, what the hell do I know of techspeak or electronics anyway, but he fixed it, I guess.

Since my one-hip-slide on the snow last week my handlebars were out of alignment. The salt they use on the road comined with the wet snow/ice/slush is hell on my bike as well, so it needed cleaning. I used a bucket of lukewarm water to rinse off the salt (I hope I managed to get most of it), and then dried the chain with a rag. Long live cabbage*!

Greased the chain again and after NoKey helped me align the handlebars again I took it for a small ride to see if it all worked out. It's good as new. There's still some rust on the chain and gears, but I hope that I managed to halt the decay for a good while!

We also took a look at the placement of a small flag. It would increase visibility a lot and there is actually a place where it will work: on the back light suspension point. It'll involve NoKey getting his hands on a suitable piece of metal and drilling several holes, but I'm optimistic. He's very good with his hands, that man.

First maintenance is out of the way then. I still love my recumbent bicycle. Yay!
