Thursdaynight saw me in Zaandam, at [livejournal.com profile] aroka and Jo's pad, for a pre-photoshoot talk. It's for my triptych project, which I entrusted into Aroka's capable hands. As suspected, he can fully appreciate the artisticness of the project and takes it to the next level. I hope I managed to highlight the character enough, I wasn't feeling 100%, but it was a fun visit nonetheless.

During my train trip home I opened up rings for my maille project, all the while listening to the young students around me over the sound of my mp3-player. Whether the students were really that young, that naïve, that adolescent, I don't know, but it made me feel very old, responsible, and very grown up.

Fridaymorning I awaited a customer for a fitting and I was pleasantly surprised to see the fit, which was very good. The shape achieved was a feather in my bonnet, and no mistake! Surprised and proud at my skills, and the customer was impressed as well, so that's very good.

Then after having lunch I needed to sort out the quilt fabrics for my mother's quilt. I've managed to sew a lot of the blocks yet, but not all of them. However, in my pre-PMS state of mind I couldn't wrap my head around even the basics of math, and I relented -- ordering 3 meters of each of the fabrics in turn. I can always quilt them a lap quilt of the scraps. This took longer than expected, but I was again pleasantly surprised with one of the webshops featuring the quilt fabric when they e-mailed me back nearly right after my order telling me one of the fabrics was out of stock. Very good customer service, over at Rainbow Crafts!

After lunch and ordering the fabrics, I packed a bag and cycled over to Keffie's pad through the drizzle for some serious maille'ing. I took along a DVD (Hook) to 'watch' during our work, but then Keffie said he had misplaced his pliers. Out to the small shopping centre around the corner we went. Lucky for us I remembered the Wibra having cheap-ass pliers, and we bought several so we could get on with it.
I loved watching Hook again, but I could just slap myself for forgetting the two pouches with prepared rings! I did have a short strand of rings I could attach to the main body, though, and proceeded to open the remainder of gold rings from the travel case. Not quite done yet, but at five-thirty it was high time for me to get going. Quote of the day: "All grown-ups are pirates!"
I loved the feel of Never-never land again, and I never want to grow up and become a pirate. *grin*

Maille status: 55 rings x 6 rings slab (counting only green rings, width = front panel), nearly 1/10 of rings prepared for weaving.
