Project chestnut: January
Jan. 30th, 2010 10:59 amLast update of project chestnut was in November. Two months on, the chestnuts have grown quite rapidly. Of course, they're not hindred by snow or frost (fresh snow has fallen yesterday evening and tonight -- I haven't had this much snow in a winter for 15 years at least) and they're snugly warm near the central heating with plenty of water. We'll have to see if NoKey's oak tree will survive the winter.

At a 75% success rate, I checked to see and the last one is also sprouting, yet slowly. The chestnut in the smallest container sprouted first, I guess that has to do with soil temperature. =)
I've made it into a Flickr set, so all pictures will be together as this project goes on.
