Photo's from stuff I am making for the Midwinterfair. Remember everyone: the Midwinterfair will be Dolle Griet's last event! Get a genuine Dolle Griet while you still can!

A blue fur-lined cloak. The fur lining has a center-back seam to ensure that the nap of the fabric is perfect. The outside is a thick, sturdy cotton with a stripe woven in diagonally. The clasp is a Treasurecast Viking clasp of lead-free pewter with two hooks for extra sturdiness. The hood of the cloak has an extra edge of fur on the outside, and is also completely lined with fake fur.

Doublets ahoy! This first doublet is made from a piece of fabric that was left after making a cloak, and was just enough to make a doublet from including the facings and peplums. The fabric is a sturdy poly-blend.
I still need to spice it up with something but won't you know it: out of all the ribbons, trims and things I have lying around, nothing really matches it!

Another doublet, which is reserved at the moment. This one is also made of lovely 'rest pieces'. I hate to throw anything away and in this case that's a good thing. The shirt is made of a lovely cotton that I dyed myself and was also used in the Beriadanwen coat as a lining. It has a woven stripe texture that you can see best on the right cuff. The shirt still needs grommets at the neckline unless you really want that swashbuckling look.

The doublet is a piece of lovely wool that I had left after making a cloak for a Legolas. The doublet is faced with the same wool, and peplum are doubly-cut just like in the above doublet to ensure their stiffness. This doublet has contrast stitching in the same colour as the shirt, and therefor these pieces cannot be sold seperately.

Remember that lovely medieval dress I posted earlier? I made a tunic to match for a gentleman. A lovely shade of orange/red/brown wool that is really hard to describe. This long tunic has a center-front split and gores at the side for ease of walking or swashbuckling. The trim around the neck and just above the hem finish it off nicely.

One more week until the Midwinter fair!

The best of luck to you for next week my dear. That tunic is rather dashing I must say. I hope you sell some pouches as well otherwise you will have plenty of presents for years to come!

Thank you! I had originally only added trim near the hem and it really needed something on top to balance everything out. I'm glad I could use the rest of the trim for this awesome keyhole neckline.

Very pretty stuff!
I'm sad I can't go to the MWF this year.

I love the collar of the tunic in the last picture. Do you have a close up of it or a similar colour? I wonder how you attached the trim.

I don't have a close-up and everything's packed up already, sorry. The trim is pleated so it lies flat perfectly, and the pleats are stitched down in a yellow thread so it won't bulge. This way you can make a curve out of a straight bit of trim. Around the square bottom I just folded the triangles under and stitched those down.
