Appointment please?
Nov. 27th, 2009 11:26 amCalled the doctor this morning. Nothing serious, luckily. When we picked up the recumbent on Hallowe'en I tried to step up after dinner and hit one of the pedals. When I put my right foot down on the other side to not fall flat on my face, I twisted my ankle somewhat. It wasn't very serious although it hurt like hell for a moment, but I could still cycle home. Haven't had much trouble with it since, although wearing heels is uncomfortable.
Turns out it's not going away. Wearing my mountaineering boots helps to stabilise the ankle, but I notice that when I put lateral stress on it (like having my ankles crossed while stretched out) or when I stretch (toes away) or flex (toes up) my foot, my ankle doesn't like me at all. It's painful, but not too painful to stop me from doing my daily things. I can cycle and walk pain-free.
Apparantly my GP was only in the 'health centre' for one year and that she left a good while back, which goes to show that I really hardly ever go to the doctor. The assistant wanted to plan me in for Monday, but we settled on December fourth, on Friday. It's nothing life-threatening so I can wait. Dear me, am I butch or what?
I'm curious what the doc says. And who my new GP will be.
