Last minute preparations for the Moots
Oct. 16th, 2009 12:26 pmThis weekend we'll be off to Nijmegen for the Moots. Yesterday
twilightbanana came to pick up our stuff (yay!) which NoKey had already packed (more yay!). All I had to do when I got home from work was decide what was missing and add that to the pile. NoKey lifted all the heavy things downstairs because of my sore rib.
On one hand, I'm kind of looking forward to the Moots since Frankie is the most crazy character I have around and despite it being socially unacceptable IRL it's really quite fun to just beat people up for no reason.
The Moots itself doesn't do much for me, the camping will be cold (but IC, so that's good), and I'm worried about my rib acting up, preventing me from having the Fight-Club kind of fun.
I did bring a back-up costume (carrotapple) and extra batteries for my camera so I could always go off and play a photographer if it turns out I can't fight. There is also whisky, and I'm pretty sure the first aid volunteers are really nice people.
Last night I made a last-minute scalp -- Running Deer the local Indian character scalped a chaos-warrior and gave me the scalp, which will be dangling bloodily from my quiver. Yay! I think Frankie was genuinely moved, perhaps even romantically, by the gesture.
And this morning I made a dagger-sheath for my leg, so I can add more daggers to my attire. This should conclude all last-minute preparations. We're still taking a thermos of tea along in the train, but other than that we're all ready to go!
