Quilting: done and for free!
May. 18th, 2009 02:47 pmFinally finished that blue and yellow number, and I'm happy to say I'll be donating it to a willing victim.
I've got progress photo's in my Flickr album (I'm starting to love Flickr more and more).
The stitching on the front isn't as neat as I'd like it to be, so please check out the large pictures on Flickr!
The quilt is 103 cm long and 61 cm wide. The blue sashing on all sides is nearly 5 centimeters wide. The quilt top is made up of cotton in a bright yellow and a bright cobalt blue. The batting (filling) is Hobbs Heirloom premium cotton batting (80% cotton, 20% polyester) and the back is the same yellow cotton as used in the triangles. I used stitch-in-the-ditch to quilt it.

The quilt is labeled on the back with the year I made it.
I'm giving this quilt away. Should anyone like to have it for themselves, their kids or pets, their larp events or sacrificial altar, I will send it by mail unless you live a block away. It'll work well as a cat or doggie quilt, but can also work as a lap quilt or a baby quilt, if so desired (some people are born colour blind, after all *grin*).
Really, the colours are nifty, but it's a daring combination. Blue and yellow just doesn't match anything in the house except for my mouse mat!

Hmm... ik voel een projectje aankomen! :-)
