Bye-bye Slackware 10.2.0 - Hello KUbuntu
Nov. 19th, 2008 07:32 pm64.362 files.
15.3 G
And somehow my userID from this install is not the same from the previous install. And that matters.
Janestarz != Janestarz
I can print, I can use internet, I can check my mail through logging into the webserver and mutt. I have chat, but no mail yet. Everything needs to be put back, but we'll get around to that.
Soon.

Date: 2008-11-20 06:15 am (UTC)Oh, and different UID's? (K)ubuntu starts with 1000 I believe, I didn't know that slackware used something else. :)

Date: 2008-11-20 08:17 am (UTC)The weird thing about the UID was that I could not mount or use the USB harddisk even though my username was the same. NoKey fixed it though, and all files are restored. It felt good to fire up my firefox and have all my cookies and bookmarks intact!
The only thing that still needs tweaking is my KMail, but I can use Mutt in the mean time.

And do you know where I can find a NIS client for ubuntu? I think I'll switch to NIS with the new server.
