This has been on my mind for a while, and with last night's post with the newsletter with pictures, it jumped to the foreground again.

[Poll #1227621]

I really value everyone's opinion on this, so please vote, whether you live in the Netherlands or not.

I don't think it's necessary. I post RH stuff in my journal all the time. From a business point of view, it allows me to expose the business to lots of new people, to people who might come around just to read my economic analysis or enjoy my humour and who have no idea I sell patterns.

Somehow I feel like I post personal stuff more often, or maybe more in-depth, than you. Maybe I don't. :-) I post a lot of stuff friends-only, so a separate journal would ensure no juicy gossip leaks out when I don't want it to.

I wouldn't. You can keep your own LJ sorted with the help of tags and friends-only posts, and unless you plan on significantly upping your Dolle Griet updates I think it will not significantly impact the way your journal works, plus the fact that all your f-list would have to add another journal.

And I like my larp-stuff suppliers with a face. Call me old-fashioned.

That's why my default icon shows my face so nicely, doesn't it? :P

I do have a lot of tags though.

You know what I mean. Your blog is... well... yours. And tags work well in my opinion.

Yes, if you feel that you should. It won't make much of a difference for me, since I'll just Friend both journals and still read everything. Others might have less interest in your personal life, and might just want a simple way to read DG updates.

If it were my journal, I mostly would consider if I could keep track of both journals. If I ended up posting in the wrong journal too often I would not go for it.

If you wanted to use LiveJournal to keep a newsblog on the DG site so non-LJ reading customers could keep up with events without you needing to update two seperate newspages, it would also be easier to have a seperate journal.

I don't think you need to separate your personal journal from Dolle Griet, I mean you are Dolle Griet after all. You like to write about sewing and patterns someties and it would be hard to decide if those posts are yours or Dolle Griet's. The tags and the friends-lock are enough imho.

Don't

Don't think it's necessary. You have the DG-website and probably a mailinglist on which you can do announcements, newsletters and pictures for most of your customers who do not read your LJ. Unless you want to add the DG-LJ to the DG website I do not see why you should create a seperate LJ. Besides, DG is part of your life, so I personally do not mind reading about it on your LJ. ;)
