The doorbell rang. It was dark, and warm arms held me to a warm body. "What the..." NoKey said, and untangled from me. He went to the door and peered through the peephole. Sure enough, someone was at the door.
He undid the bolt and opened the door a crack. It was rather obvious that the whole house was dark.
"Hello neighbour" came the Chinese-accented tones of the Wong family from #63 "this was delivered to us today."
"We were already in bed..." NoKey feebly said.
"We're just done working." the Wong family runs the Chinese Restaurant two streets over. The woman thrust the white box to NoKey, who took it. "Happy birthday."
"I'll be sure to tell Jane," NoKey said, "Thanks" and closed the door.
He turned on the light and put the box on the bed. "Happy birthday! From Sogeti, Mark B." said the note. I opened the box.
A pie. Whipped cream and green and yellow fruit featured prominently on the pie. After the cheesecake pie with strawberries, the slightly runny chocolate cake, and the pie I had treated my colleagues to, another pie was something I surely didn't need.
I don't even like pie.
So now I have another pie. I won't eat it....anyone fancy coming over to eat it tonight?

Date: 2008-05-14 09:54 am (UTC)I was thinking about setting up a nice weave tonight. I have it pretty much figured out how it works, and found some nice patterns. (I like the "chains" from this page (http://www.schachtspindle.com/instructions/weaving/inkle.htm)).
