I've decided to switch to decaf coffee from now on. It's given me some trouble in the past (heart rate going all over the place) and I believe the bad guy in this is caffeine.

Caffeine is also known to be stored in the skin for up to ten hours, if I recall my trivia correctly. My personal symptoms also include jitteryness of the fingers, shaking hands, stomach pains.

From today on, I can only drink coffee when I brew it myself or in restaurants where they sell decaf. This will be the toughest bit because coffeemachines, like the ones at work and on the train stations, only serve the regular kind. I guess I have to lug a thermos around from now on.

In slightly related news: I think I have succeeded in giving myself a sufficient overdose of Sims2 to be potentially cured of it.

Also, as a total aside: NoKey picked up my new presserfoot. These things are effing expensive!
Bias-foot € 22,-
Piping foot € 17,-
Soutache foot € 12,-
Creative bobbin case € 32,-!!
I bought some more and was immediately € 158 lighter. Can you believe that [livejournal.com profile] thebatsmeow?

It also .... might just be the coffee. There's more to coffee than the caffeine - and some of the other stuff can cause health problems as well. If the decaf doesn't give you the improvements you're looking for, you might try a week of switching to tea instead.

Personally, I love coffee - but it doesn't always love me... Even black tea seems a lot more gentle on the system.

That was the first thing to pop in my mind too. Switch to tea! Much healthier than coffee. But also a lot of tea can give you stomach pain, although my consumption of tea is a bit over the top (2 liters a day). Last year I switched to rooibos and my stomach pain is gone, I can drink as much tea as I like (woehoe!). The only downside of rooibos is that you have to pee a lot :s.

Tea just makes you want to pee a lot. After all, it's just water with a bit of flavour in it.

I *hate* rooibos tea. Can't stand the taste of it, really. Same with Earl Grey. I'm lucky that I like Jasmine tea so I bought some Twinings Jasmine tea. Much better now. *smile*
