After shopping and everything I finally managed to stowe NoKey into the car with all the stuff and we picked up Keffie and stashed his stuff in the car. We were away and en-route by four fifteen.

Seeing the forest again was wonferful as usual and Federuna vacated a space for us so NoKey and I could share a bunk bed. NoKey took the top bed and we put on our costumes for Legendfalls IV: The Cheater cheated?

After dressing up NoKey, Keffie Federuna and myself went into the forest to show our respect. I had brought along a piece of kruidkoek we had baked earlier that day and we took our time finding the right spot and sharing the moment.
When we walked back I felt more at peace and safer than before. We had missed the Time In talk, but quickly fell into our roles and did our things.

Friday
Adriënne and myself were still in the woods near the house of the vampire, where Hagor was a guest for two days. I heard the vampire ranting at Hagor and him replying in a calm voice. The vampire was still mad at the people of the expedition for coming to try and kill him and his family.
Adriënne, attracted by the rants against her goddess, slowly moved forwards to the house. No doubt she wanted to protest the abuse. I sneaked up behind her and put my hand over her mouth, slowly dragging her backwards.
No way she would be taking the cube to that vampire.
We stuck around for a long time, and Lanelle didn't stay in one place for long. Mostly I sat against treetrunks, sometimes moving to a different spot in order to stay warm. I tried to lure Adriënne back to the village with me, but failed.

Finally, Hagor came out to us. Apparantly he knew we were there. He came to ask us some questions and whether we could come answer them. I told him bluntly that there was no way I would let the cube come to the vampire so easily.
The vampire called out to Hagor, impatient. "Well, I will have to take him into the village then." Hagor said. "Because he wants some answers."
As soon as Hagor turned to walk back to the vampire, I took Adriënne along and we ran back to the village. We arrived in time to announce to some people that the vampire would be coming, and only moments later did he, his mate and Hagor teleport into the tavern.

I sat down next to Malmah at a table and we talked for a little while. A human woman came in, scorning each and everyone she met. She came over to us and asked us how an elf could kill something if they were all for nature.
"I could show you." Malmah whispered.
"Are you threatening me?" the woman exclaimed, looking all affronted. She had a big mouth for a roundear.
"I don't know if she's trying to threaten or seduce you." I said softly to Malmah, who smiled.

Not long after that, the cat I met earlier in the forest came inside. She was wounded and tired and looked bad. I sat down next to her and smiled at the elf who had coaxed her inside. I got Ialis to help out and then attended to different things.
When I got back to the inn I heard almost immediately that the cat had been stabbed and that she had fled into the forest. I tackled Hagor to help: her tracks would be nigh invisible to follow by night, but he could arrest the culprit and make him pay because he is a member of the village council. The man was told banished into the forest for five nights.

Saturday
The next morning early, Hagor and I went after the cat. Her tracks were visible and she was still bleeding slightly as she fled from the village, so it was not very hard to follow. At some point she had tried to climb a tree and failed; a puddle of blood was a testimony of where she had landed and possibly a measure of how long she had laid there. Eventually, her tracks led us farther into the woods and we could only conclude that it was best to leave her be. She had half a day on us, and the only way we would find her was if she was dead. Besides, if she would succeed in climbing a tree or it would rain, her tracks would be gone and we would have had to abandon the search anyway.

Dren had borrowed Agis' shield and set it against a pine tree. We joined in practicing our bow at it, and eventually Luxo, who carries a twig with a string as a bow, joined Dren as well. Fun detail was that I stood three meters behind them and shot between them, better than Luxo by far. It startled Luxo (who had a hit ratio of 1/8).

When we were done practicing our bow, Dren asked me if I would be willing to sit on the village council. Nairo was away for a longer time and another human had been found to stand in for John Walker during his absence. Both Malmah and Luxo also said they would be willing, and all the elves (except Adriel, who had been very busy and was hardly to be seen) sat in the tavern to vote on the substitute for Nairo. Luxo got two votes, so did Malmah, and so did I. The two members of the council then changed their vote from me to Malmah in order to dissolve a deadlock situation. I congratulated Malmah, and went outside with Aiko (sp?) to check on Hagor. The story went that Hagor had run away after the Lionhearts confronted him and the vampire.

I tracked Hagor and Aiko and I ran into Dylon, who demanded to know where Hagor was. I didn't reply - it was a question I could not answer and asked in such a way that I would not, and we continued following Hagor's tracks. After a while we ran into him.
Not long afterwards, the three of us ran into Dylon again. He looked at me with scornful eyes, and started to shout. "You said you didn't know where Hagor was! You elves are all the same!" and he spat at my feet.

By the time he had turned around I had an arrow aimed between his shoulderblades but, not knowing how Hagor would react, I did not loose it. By the time I had made up my mind, Dylon had walked around a bend in the path and I had lost my shot.
"Lanelle.." Hagor began. "You have every right to be mad at him."
"As long as you wear that tabbard, you are no longer my friend!"
I turned around and walked back to the village, following Dylon and ignoring Hagor calling my name. "Look at what I am doing, then!"
I turned around and he was taking off his Lionheart tunic. I walked back.
"He had no right to say that." Hagor said as I came back. The three of us returned to the village. We heard that the the cat had returned and that the Igors had taken her for a ritual. The dryad had told us to protect the cat, so we ran after them and found them inside a ritual circle. The cat was dead, and the woman who had hissed and spat at Malmah the night before started to shout at us. In the end we were given the cat in trade for the woman, though we had wounded her. We lay the cat to rest and returned her body to nature and waited for the woman and her Igors to come back to the village. When they did, we denied them access and in the end, we killed the woman. She had been most unpleasant and was threatening to plant a dagger in our back when our backs were turned. To prevent this, we killed her.

Adriel asked me to help him drag her body into the forest, while Dren, Hagor and the other ones present helped Ialis to heal the Igors (she would not hear of letting them die too). We took the woman's body and dragged her deeper into the forest, where Adriel called some wolves to feed upon her flesh. One was a very happy puppy, and Adriel told me how she used to be an elder alpha female. He had tried to heal her but in stead had taken over a scar of hers, and she had become many years younger. The female licked my hand happily as I introduced myself to the pack of wolves.

Once I was back in the village, Hagors sister Federuna came up to me.
"I wanted to thank you," she said, "for going after Hagor today. It means a lot to me."
I inclined my head, and when she did not speak further, I went back outside, where I saw Adriel. On his forehead he had a scar, and he looked pale.

"I will need your help, Lanelle." he said to me, and explained the situation somewhat. He had been to the library on the elven world and found a way to cure whatever was wrong with him. He needed some basic things like bark, soil and grass. He also needed three drops of blood, and it could not be his own blood.
"I do not think it would be wise to use your blood, so can you catch a rabbit for me?"
"Of course." I answered. "I know where I can find their holes and if I stay close to the trap, it should not be a problem to catch one alive for you."
I set to work and crafted a snare from some bendy twigs while walking. SL had told me I would be ready by the time of dinner, but I had already made the snare as well as a physrep for the bunny within half an hour.
Adriel added all the ingredients and molded a shape and did some of his magic that Lanelle doesn't really understand. Afterwards, the shape was crumpled, the bunny still trembled in my arms, and Adriel looked a lot better. He healed the bunny where he nicked her paw and I returned her to her family.

Dinner was boerenkool with worst and spek. I enjoyed that mightily, but the food was very heavy on the stomach.
Hagor came to sit at our table and said that Wayland the smith and Regina were appointed sherriffs to uphold the law and bring any perpetrators before the village council.
"I don't approve of your choices." I said. "They are both humans."
Hagor frowned. "Well, would you like to be sherriff of the forest?" he asked.
"If the council finds me a suitable candidate, I will not decline." I answered.

Shortly after Hagor left our table, his sister came up to ask for my help. She said Hagor had been taken by the vampire and that she was afraid for him. And asked me if I would be willing to help find him.
We went outside, and she told the rest of the group that was waiting to go after Hagor that they must not come. I didn't think it would be wise. Just the two of us set out and we snuck towards the house of the vampire. We stayed close to the road and at one point hid behind the hedge because mr. V's character (an elf whom I suspect of doing forbidden magic), came a-running.
We came close, but not close enough to the house. I thought I heard something, and I was afraid to bring Federuna into danger. I told her as much, and we turned back.

When I got back in the tavern, Dylon came up to me. Hagor had told me that he had demanded Dylon apologize to me, but so far he had not even shown any interest in doing so. Now he did, and I crossed my arms.
"I wanted to apologize to you for spitting at your feet. It was wrong of me to do so. I don't know exactly what had happened, but I believe another personality had taken over."
I raised one eyebrow and glanced at Sven, next to him.
"Anyway, I wanted to apologize and I know you don't speak to people, so I can understand if you don't reply. But um, I do mean it and I want you to know that I will understand if you choose not to reply."
"It takes a great man to apologize for something he does not remember doing, but he feels sorry for." I replied, measuring my words. Dylon rambled a reply in the human manner and when he finally shut up again I continued.
"However, if it is true that there is a second personality that takes over sometimes, then I suggest you look into the matter lest it takes over at another - less convenient - time."
Sven nodded vigorously, and Dylon then replied that that would not be necessary as Deash, as he called the other person, would take on an advisory role from now on. He rambled on a bit more, and then I turned on my heel and walked away.

I went out character shortly after. I wasn't having such a great time and I sat down with Fardau and Ilse who were dipping as well. We were joined by Prince and Nadja shortly after, and Prince and I remenisced about our time at Comenius and the teachers we had there. I went to bed and was fast asleep by the time NoKey cuddled me when he went to bed. I can vaguely recall that he did though, so that was good.

Sunday
I was awake just before Dennis did the wake up call at nine, and quickly got dressed and braided my hair. I hate taking more than 15 minutes for my appearance, but in this case my boots alone take that time. Braiding my hair is even more work. Keffie had said he wanted to go looking for herbs early, but they were gone without me by the time I was done. I ate some bread with scrambled eggs and bacon and chives, and joined them outside.
We walked into the forest a bit and looked for herbs, but didn't find any. Sven (Peter) remarked that we looked like a typical D&D party: the scout, the fighter, the healer and the monk.

A group of elf-haters came into the village for a little bash but Hagor and Agis killed them.
Adriel had organised a little trip into the woods once we got back, to go and find the sister of our dryad, the blighter I had suspected. Our dryad faints whenever you ask her about her sister so we had to talk to the bligther herself. We gathered many ritualists and elf scouts and Hagor and set out. We found the wolves again, and the puppy licked my hands some more while Adriel talked with them. Cue SL being an ass.
Our dryad had told us "to go looking for the last green place in the forest". The wolves told us there was no one such place. But there was one very very dark place. "Wedge a boot in, go there now" -style. Le sigh.
So we went to find the very very dark place in the forest instead and lo' and behold what do my elf eyes see? The dark dryad merging with trees who promptly die from the experience. We have found the sister.

Adriel wants to go over there to talk to the sister. Both sisters should be in balance but they're not, so he wants to find out why this is. Cue the SL kicking the NPCs we had brought along to pipe up. They started to yammer that they knew something and that Adriel should not be going over there. And what that knowledge was, they couldn't tell us because the gods would not approve of her telling it. But if we ALL were to go back to the greener spot in the forest, she could tell us.
Yeah right.
At that point, NoKey got a huge headache, and I was quite ready to shoot the SL's. So Lanelle and Hagor took a different road back to the village, during which I told Hagor of Dren's idea to dose him with a truth serum because he is no longer trusted.
"I told Dren that you have not done anything to endanger the village since your run-in with the vampires, and that I believe you are the one thing that keeps them from killing us all."

By the time we got back to the village I had had it with unsolveable plot, and I sat down for some lunch with NoKey. By the time a Mass Fascinate was called in the town square, I was quite ready to hang my ears and take a shower, so I did.

After we stashed the bags again, NoKey and I shot some bow and had a good time. It was pretty impressive. Then we loaded the car and drove back home.

I have many mixed feelings about this Legendfalls and I am willing to try one more.
The main problem I have is being saddled with plot I can't deny - plot that concerns the forest is something Lanelle would follow up on - but that I don't enjoy. The clues were scarce, the answers were not there and just because elves are patient doesn't mean I am.

I would like to continue to pester Hagor and Dylon...but we'll see how this goes.
