Everything's for sale!
Jun. 2nd, 2007 03:56 pmHome of the free, land of the brave. Where everything is for sale and advertisement is cheaper and looks better than bread. Every restaurant and pub has a television bringing you the latest sports. Family dinners are spent worshiping the tube, the only people that are not staring at the screen are the children who play with their dinner.
We went to Walmart again today, where I spent an hour looking for acceptable undies so I wouldn't have to do another batch of laundry. I also bought some great T-shirts reflecting the wonderful American spirit as souvenirs for our D&D buddies.
Next to angling, baseball, hiking, shooting and survivalling gear you can also buy tires at Walmart. I definitely would have bought the $10,- machete if I had been sure I could get it into the country. Even sending it home with UPS would have been tricky. Even if it would have been even a slightly acceptable quality, that is.
So, I think I have enough souvenirs now. I know I can layer my bed twice over with all the t-shirts I bought as souvenirs for various people. I definitely am happy with my own batch of Ohio University merchandise. And I spent an enjoyable half hour in a bookstore yesterday.
Also, WalMart has a fabric department. I sure won't be needing any more trim any time soon.

Hope you're doing well over there.
Back here everything is normal as usual. Right now we're having dinner at Nokey's. Both he and Gwendolijn are in the kitchen cooking... I'm relaxing and reading your LJ a bit... :-)
See you in a week.
