I feel fucking great!
Apr. 5th, 2002 03:25 pmAll you readers, I came into school for just you, to tell you about my wonderful night last night!
TommyCee took her little car to school, and had dinner at my place. The well-deserved macaroni was okay, not particulary super, but I couldnt add garlic. So we dressed up, had plenty of time to do our hair and make-up, and went for a walk, to the ATM machine to get cash. When we returned to my place, we packed her car with candy and drove off!
Taking the highway was okay, we found Nijmegen (which isnt half as hard to find on the highway as Ede, I can tell you that!) and circled around looking for Doornroosje [translation: Sleeping Beauty, the place where the show was at]. We finally found it thanks to some people and a tiny sign saying <-- Doornroosje. And I mean tiny tiny. Hardly legible.
So we entered fashionably late, at 9.25 (pm) or something. It started at 9 pm. The Lulabelles were already on stage having a blast and we just stepped up and bounced with the music. Anna (the guitarist) even did grunts! I loved the Lulabelles. Just too bad they were already almost leaving because they had played some songs before we came in.
So when the Lulabelles were done, Wiseguy started building up. Joe Caine was there *Giggle*
So Wiseguy opened with their single Gimme Horses which I had heard on the internet. TommyCee has the split they did, I think. Or the 7 Pull The Cup. I dunno. I knew the song and danced. Sort of. Joe broke the E-snare of his bass, just in the middle of a song. He ran offstage [in the middle of the song !] and borrowed Kevins bass. But they rocked. The other 2 dudes (I have no idea what their names are and I should, probably ) can play guitar quite well, and I noticed they had a drummer. When I was in Amersfoort and I saw them I can only remember staring obsessively at the hands of the 3 men with guitar. And at Joe for bouncing around the stage all the time. Thats just how he is on stage. *Giggle*
So when they were done cleaning up the stage, Beyond Lickin came on. They were okay. The accent in their music is very much on the meaning of the music. They had songs inspired on sex and porn, and not the text but the riffs themselves made that clear (as well as the singer saying This ones called Softporn and Another weak end). Well, that was a first for me. They had very few text. They were okay, their music was okay.
Then the Apers started building up their stage, and Joe manned the merchandise stand, and so TommyCee and I went & checked. TC was wearing her Peter Pan Speedrock t-shirt and Joe instantly adressed her Are you going to Peter Pan in Leiden next week as well?
So TC talked to him for a short time, and then mentioned something about we can go to that gig near Rotterdam because shes from Ouderkerk. So Joe turned to me and was all like Oh, do you know him, and her, and Im from Krimpen.
TC quietly left, and I talked to Joe for a while *Big smile* and I bought some merchandise. I let him search for a sticker from the Apers which said Fuck you, the Apers rule, but they were sold out. He practically turned the box upside down but couldnt find any. Too bad. I really would have liked that one. Me likes *Giggle*
But did buy some great merchandise, by the time I had everything paid, the Apers just started playing. I bought a button from the Lulabelles, a sticker with the Apers skull, a sticker with The [skull] Apers and a Wiseguy sticker with a car on it. And a split cd from the Apers with Retarded, which is pretty mieters!
*Giggle*
So I shoved everything in my purse and started dancing with TC! We totally danced and we sort of freaked out. Sort of. Ivo remembered I was the sister of, which was real sweet. And Kevin asked my name again. #2.
Bottom line is: We got lost in Arnhem going home, but we had soooooo much fun! I got a cute cd, a cute button, and some cute stickers, and I even talked to some pretty cute band people.
