Market Damage
Nov. 15th, 2005 01:39 pmThis week:
Also picked up skirt-snaps for Steelweavers' skirt, and 27 euro worth of buttons at Matsons.
Market was good. Now to untangle my spine.
- 15 meters of white cotton damast.
I've had my eye on this stuff for a while, and when my mother ordered two tablecloths, I had an excuse to buy myself the ten meters I wanted soooo bad. Just in time too, Piet was onto his last roll of it. I'm probably going to dye it deep violet and make myself a long coat or a short coat, or I have no idea what yet out of it. But it's going to be so pretty. - 5,5 meters of cream linen.
Pretty sheer, but not seethrough. Might be nice for bias-cut summer dress. I'm going for summer dresses lately, since I'm very excited about our holiday plans. Kos, here we come! - 6 meters of black cotton, satin-woven.
Very thick, perfect for cloaks. Scrap pieces will probably be a camera-bag, a good one. Lined and stuffed so it'll be safe. DG. - 5 meters of black cotton
This stuff is very, very light. It's not see-through, but it is soft and light enough to make a dress from. Since Suusje told me she will be making a few more gala gowns for her Vampire character I just can't stay behind. And five meters will give me enough volume to make a gorgeous one. - 4 colours of 4 meters of polyester each. For cloaks. DG.

i need to get started somewhere you know. and i'm not as handy as you are AT ALL! so i thought this is a good start.
and they had a "patroon" for a basic skirt which i could easily use over and over again...

Date: 2005-11-15 09:48 pm (UTC)It's a sad thing I just bought a few buttons, since I fancy the schmanzy buttons that are 2 euro's each. And at my favorite button-store they're even more expensive (in Utrecht). Luckily, I don't come there very often.
