The Veela project
May. 10th, 2005 10:34 amTime is starting to press for the Veela project, and I'm glad to say that ever since Sunday, NoKey and I have been working on it. I'm still not telling what it is, exactly. Sunday we copied NoKey's taijutsu pants in green linen (gods I love linen) and yesterday we worked on the shirts. Work goes so much faster when you're in a team working together. NoKey cut and pinned, I sewed and pressed. All in all, the hardest bit of the shirts are done, and I could finish the rest of it before lunch. Then the headdress remains. And the weapons.
Lycra is quite hard to work with.
In other news, I had some inspiration for a dress-like tunic for my archer backup char. I had some purplish-red stretch cotton lying around, I tweaked that Simplicity wedding dress pattern somewhat, and added sleeve caps and a hood. I also abused one of the quilting stitches on my sewing machine, like they did in the Arwen chase dress (Baseball stitch). If I ever get around to saving money to buy myself a back quiver and bow-holder like Kaminari has, I'll be so cool.
I now have three outfits that I need to take pictures of. The Day/Night dress, the corset, and my archer's tunica. Time, patience, and a sunny day.
