The blogs of my Dutch friends are buzzing. It's the celebration of the Queen's birthday tomorrow, which we call "Koninginnedag" or in fubarish translated English: "Queensday". TommyC, in her new blog which I still read, will probably visit her niece in Nijmegen, while Paysdoc just figured out that it's a Saturday, which is a very sucky coincidence because now the forced day off is a day he wouldn't have had to work anyway.
And, since our wonderful Beatrix Wilhelmina Armgard van Oranje-Nassau will have been Queen for 25 years, there's a big party all around! So instead of most people dressing up like idiots in orange (Oranje = the colour orange) and selling junk in the streets and drinking too much alcohol, EVERYONE will act as such.

I must say that the entire planning is quite convenient. NoKey and I will, among a bunch of other people, have a great Queensday. We will dress up as Samurai and pretend we're Japanese. We're definitely not going to be around for Queensday.
