Get a move on
Apr. 27th, 2005 10:10 amI've been rusted to my chair lately, hardly able to get a move on. Inspiration is low, and when I pick up a project I tire from it easily and abandon it for an hour, sometimes two.
I did get some inspiration yesterday, for a gambeson. Now that I have that standard tunic pattern it's so easy to just make stuff. Get out the pattern, adapt it slightly, and then just sew it all together, done. But before I can do that, the fabrics must inspire me and that is sometimes hard.
I also now have a pattern for my own chiffon circle-pants, or dress-divided-for-riding as RJ calls it. Speaking of RJ, my grey wool historic dress is almost done. The shift is very comfortable and gets rid of all the itchyness, so that is good.
On my to-do-list today:
- finish gambeson
- cut scraps of fabric from roll so I can find some fitting extra's and haberdashery at Matsons tomorrow
- start on order
- mail for another order
- sketch
