Ofcourse you never are quite sure whether or not the pattern you have is right, until you can put on the dress itself. Last time I had lock-stitched all panels to keep them from fraying, and today I resumed where I left off by stitching the panels together. By hand, because you can very easily undo those stitches if the dress needs to be bigger. The Simplicity pattern said that 15mm seam allowance was included, but Simplicity has also been wrong in the past (can I just point out the 24 cm we had to lengthen this pattern?).
So now, an hour and a half later, all panels of the main body are stitched together of the gold (day) part of the dress, including shoulder seams. It already looks fantastic when it is on my dress doll Esmeralda, so I can't wait to wear this myself.
Next up: repeat steps 1-3 with the black satin.
