Patterns and cloth, patterns and cloth

steelweaver was over to do some pattern-copying, sewing, and talking over tea. Well, she had a very nice Simplicity pattern of a real Renaissance dress, which I promptly wanted to copy. That was fun. Especially since it had 20 pattern pieces. I am still going to heavily change the pattern but first I must make some drafts of it. I need more old curtains so I can make loads of new patterns.
Steelweaver worked on a smock for herself, and was working very historically correct. Linen is hell to iron, but for a smock you won't need to iron it anyway, right? I mean, they hardly pressed their everyday workclothes in those times too.
Anyway, today was Schroeder coupon day, and
sjuuls and
karijn and I went into town for heavy coffee. I bought every Roleplay-coloured coupon of wool of 140 or more. And I found some silk for an outrageous price. Once my fingers touched that soft silkiness, they didn't want to let go anymore. In any case, I'm on 136 points on my customer-card and going strong for that 12.50 gift certificate you get when you reach 250 points. Halfway there...
