Hide now, for I - am - BACK!
Dec. 2nd, 2004 10:34 amYes! I'm back! Thank goodness for NoKey's monitor and my wireless mouse!
I plugged the second cable of NoKey's switchable monitor with two input plugs into my own computer. Then I dragged my keyboard over to his desk, barely making that, and put my mouse there too, which has a good-to-adequate performance on this range. And then I turned my computer back on! Whee!
Not that I have much to tell, but hey. It's the thought that counts.
I've been working on Valyar cloaks for a couple of days now. Yesterday was the height of my productivity: I made three lined cloaks (of approx. 3 hours work on each). I was totally dead when NoKey finally came home, but that's not the point. I used all the fabric Janneke gave me, and added the insides of the cloaks and the thread from my own cash. She's coming over today and I am very curious as to what she will think.
I found the perfect fabric for my 1880s victorian dress on the market on Tuesday, so I'm itching to start on that, but that will have to wait until after the midwinter fair. I calculated that I needed to put in 100 hours to pay off my debt to NoKey, and that will take me somewhere between three weeks and a month. After that, I might be able to save up for a new lockmachine or a dress doll. Geoffrey is nice and all that but can't live up to a doll that is resizable. And has boobs. Boobs good.
In other news, I dyed my hair. Ofcourse we're going to that Lands in Exile special which is officially called "the Druids' special". Dirk did a great job of converting my character to the new rule-system: he made me a blank character sheet. If he thinks I will start my incantations with "by the power of pentacles" or "by the power of tarot" he's got another thing coming. It's called a Darangu, and it is an earth elemental. I want to be friends with it so the Darangu will explain to Dirk that Miterachora or on this world Nastria can not be replaced by 'the high and mighty tarot' just because the rules change. Besides, when would Xan have found that out? Because the mages' guild said that all incantations should be this-and-that now? The mages' guild is a bunch of fucking wankers.
I will so take over the guild with Joral one day.
So yeah, I'm ready for the special. It'll rock. Made a dress, a wool cloak, knitted a shawl and made myself a new spellbook to go with the new rules. Voltar stated he wanted the spell "trample flower" and I sure as hell want "innate annoyance with village" though that is not a skill I need to buy since I already have that. They actually put in the rules that elves and drow can get along just fine.
Try us.
So. Um. Where was I. Ah yes, inspired rant on new rules of LIE. I guess I need to make myself a backup character or two. Oh yes, and Malor, bring loads of batteries and good camera, you're going to need it!
