My monitor just fried itself. I tried to come back online, and wiggled my mouse a bit to get it from standby. It twitched, and by the time the image returned, it died. Even the little power light next to the on/off switch died. I tried turning it off and then on again, but to no avail.
I had to do a hard logout (ctrl-alt-backspace) in order for my mail client to close and not remain online for the entire day. (Besides, computers that I can't touch make me twitchy). I'd be nervous all day on whether or not I got my mail, or somebody REALLY needed me like RIGHT FUCKING NOW. or something.
The monitor is off, I did a hard logout for it too (pulling the plug). It smells like fried electronics in here now, but at least the damned thing is not burning and is no longer much of a hazard.
I won't be online for a while, methinks. My own domain email and the dolle griet e-mail I can't check. If need me seriously quick, mail janestarz - yahoo .com ; my spam-infested box. Webmail is my friend, in this case.
