janestarzLast night I wanted to measure up my stepmom - for her birthday pressent we're giving her one piece of clothing, designed for her, made to fit perfectly, etc. So onto the bikes we hopped and we cycled the ten minutes to my dad. Coffee, measuring, designing, but it all took a while before we were done. She still wants that summer dress, and I think I'll take her cloth-shopping tomorrow.
NoKey bought me a new mouse, a spiffy optical wireless Logitech one. It's purrrty. No more trying to wiggle the stuff from the mouseball, no more fights with the cord being stuck between my computer and my desk-top which holds my monitor. Great. I still have to get used to the feel of it (each computer mouse is different and this one moves and is configured differently than my previous one which had a faulty scroll-button). It's possible to buy a mouse for just one euro here, but it's a mouse with a wire and a ball, three buttons and no scrolling wheel. I specifically wanted one without the scrolling wheel (if I use it, my fingers hurt), and a wireless one, with three buttons. That was impossible.
This morning I woke with a start. Not because of the nightmare with the 800 euro boots or the rattlesnakes, but because Malor would be coming over tonight to pick up his robe. My subconsciousness told me (it kicks in when all other brain functions are offline) that that particular robe was at Ragar's. In a box. A box he'd displayed at the Maerquin weekend.
So as soon as I was up and showered, I called his number, and talked to his wife. We'd meet up at the Zuidplein in Rotjeknor. But she was late. She had made a mistake by locking the key in the trunk and had to call her father in law in the UK where he had the spare key of his car. Big do-all, but we celebrated re-finding the key in the trunk by having coffees in the nearby cafe.
Right now I feel a headache coming on (so not in the mood for headaches) and I've cut another couple of cloaks. I am quite eager to start locking/locksewing them, but I want to cut all cloaks, or at least the ones I'll lock with black thread, before starting.
Ten days to go.

Date: 2004-10-17 10:03 am (UTC)There are plenty of cheap optical mice in Hong Kong too. But one day I got sick of my cheap one skipping, and got a Logitech (it's asymmetrical, but at least it has a fourth button!).
I usually use the mousewheel to cycle through weapons, but more often than not I overshoot it, so H will have to do.
You can, of course, always unbind the mousehweel, so you'll stop using it? (At worst, open it up, and cover one of the light sensor things with a bit of paper).

Left and right, then the scrollwheel and the three buttons (one in front and two behind) adjacent, and two more on the left side, just above my thumb. Linux is, at this time, configured so it recognizes only three. Wanna borrow the other five?

Date: 2004-10-17 02:27 pm (UTC)The truth is, though, that aiming is more accurate if you don't need to do any clicking with that hand, so my space is fire in quake3 (which seems to improve my railgunning by a lot).
