A slight change of travelplans the night before we left for Shadowrifts, assured that we got all our stuff to Uden. Scourger's car would have burst, but the Bus of [livejournal.com profile] sjuuls and Eagle kept our stuff well. It was a long drive though, and the rules-workshop was cut short because of the approaching thunder. Our tent was up in two minutes though, and after that we helped aforementioned Sjuul and her hubbie set up their enourmous tent. Luckily it didn't rain much, and by the time our tent was set up and we were in costume, made-up and all, ears glued-on and hair in curls and whatnot, the line for the incheck was enourmous. Some people had been waiting for two hours. Luckily I could skip ahead because I was DPC.
My DPC Character, Sasara Lei Santhra, Krey elf, teacher of House Magister

Sadly, I hardly knew what was happening and what was expected of me until I figured it out after dinner on Saturday. That was when I kicked myself in gear and then resumed to kick my students into gear.

Friday I was shown around by Kremeche, who explained all the houses and stashed me in House Magister. During the night and next day I met my new students and a couple of old ones, who had signed up before. Zenzel told me who was what and resumed his own studies.

Saturday I taught the students a bit of "electric shock" and ended up in a large battle. Though I hit many shades with lighteningbolts and fireballs, they were relentless. I was helped into Segmen where the healers stopped the bleeding. At my request, a young necromancer (thanks [livejournal.com profile] nosferius) tried his healing at me, resulting in burns all over my right arm. Well, I insisted, I knew the risks. {It's fun to shout and cry for two minutes in the middle of a field hospital though even though no-one knows what the fuck is going on.}

The Saturday night was my turning point. I realised that I had to change my approach, and after meditating with Dreek (Lolindir) in the forest, we both were spinning in our heads - and I went to apologize to the mages. And told them that it wasn't easy to become a mage.

The next day we did work harder. Much, much harder. The technical part of the lesson was short, but we practiced more and more. And we did meditation. It was good. I actually got used to the amount of energy around there. First time I did that it gave me a headache *grin*
An expedition left to collect Aisling, and Kreymeche and Zenzel went with them. Sadly Zenzel did not return, but they did get Aisling. Next SR we can learn about Rifttraveling. I hope.

There was a terrible battle, where I had to protect the library, using a magical portal. Good news is that that is impenetrable. Bad news is that after I stop the incantation, it stays intact for 1 minute and I can't earth in that time. So when I finally could get out, I accidentally earhted into hoxolotl the smith and nosferius before reaching the earth.

All in all: gooood. But next time: better!
