Read about someone else's life
Jun. 8th, 2004 10:12 amI have a whole morning ritual, which involves me getting in front of the linux computer with coffee and surfing by my favourite sites in a particular order. I read my comics, starting with PennyArcade, and finishing with Die Puny Humans. In the journal department I start with the journal of an American woman stationed in Iraq, then on and on. The friends I hardly see before the friends I see every (other) week, and ending with my friends list before updating my own journal.
It's funny how silent the internet goes when those friends have almost all gone larping, and do not update for four or five days. I'm still waiting for them to tell all the phantashthic stories, but in the mean time I read about Josianne's adventure in the Land of Ooit and with Omnia. A pang of jealousy...she does so much fun stuff, while my life lately just seems to consist of preparing for the Fantasy Fair.
But I should not complain. My next event is the Fantasy Fair, true, and though I'll be working very hard indeed to finally get some money (I haven't been able to pay my own wages for two months now), I will have a lot of fun nonetheless. Larpers coming in to the 'shop' and chatting a bit. I reckon they'll be amazed at the costumes and we'll be sold out before Sunday. A girl can dream, right? It's been a while since I last saw Seb, for instance, and though his rambling about how sorry he is I don't play Styx anymore can sometimes get on my nerves, it'll be fun to see him again. It's been too long with so many of my friends. Ignis and Josianne, are two friends I don't often see. It's also been a while since I saw Steelweaver (Lands in Exile was a while ago again) and she and Twilight always make such great costumes. Too bad I don't sell those kind of costumes.
My next LARP is Drachenfest, and I've been wanting to make that hakama for a while now. I just know it'll look absolutely gorgeous on NoKey. I'll be wanting my own too, if just for the morning ritual. And practice. I don't know if it's normal for a diplomat to change into hakama but even diplomats need a training outfit, right? I can't go around naked...
Today's going to be a good day.

Date: 2004-06-08 01:44 am (UTC)Thank you for your compliment about our costumes..we do try to make cool stuff and it's nice to hear people actually like it. You're going to want to see our new outfits...three days, three different outfits for me (a fourth got shelved because it was more of a winter outfit anyway), and a cool Earendil costume for Twilight, incl Silmaril. Gotta love a man who looks good with his hair in an elf-do (down, with little braids).
I picked up and EFF programme booklet on Friday, and reading through it I realised I know four of the people in the pics...you, NoKey, Elise and Ignis. Five, if you count the little girl with the incredibly bossy mother/aunt/grandmother/whatever who won the costume contest one day, she's sweet, but her chaperone was a real hag.
