Moving...part 2 of many
Mar. 20th, 2004 12:50 pmYesterday Malor picked me up here in Rotterdamn, and we drove to Veenendaal. Lovely village of pre-mortem sleep, before the dawn of the computer era, where nobody is actaully allowed to have a tv but most people secretly watch Idols just in case it might not be a sinful program.
But enough of the facts, let's stop at Burger Kings for a light lunch. After lunch, we continued to the Maartvlinder, where I showed Malor the boxes I had ready, and opened up my suitcase to pack the rest of my cupboard. He disconnected my computer, and stashed everything downstairs first. When we had about enough shit to drag into his car, I mad tea for us both and we sat down for a sec to catch our breath.
When finished loading the car with my boxes and other junk, we took the road again, and drove in Friday afternoon traffic back. Near Driebergen, we came upon a bit of a jam, and Malor had to hit the brakes. Because we were so heavily loaded, the wheels blocked, but luckily it only got us a bit of a scare, because the car just went straight forward. Some pretty good driving skills of Malor, and my confidence in him only got bigger.
Back at Rotterdam we arrived around 14.45, and only Voltar and NoKey were at the appartment yet, but pretty soon afterwards Julliette, Mr.Finn, Wolf and Lotte and Pasje arrived. So each of us had to walk two times up and down the stairs to empty the car. Which was what I had hoped for. The car being empty, the people wet with rain dropped their coats in the hall, and sat down on assembled chairs and the couches. NoKey and I struggled to keep everyone watered with tea and coffee, and Lotte offered me her flowers. She almost had rampaged the narcissus flower bed the city plants around each village, but (un)fortunately Julliette stopped her.
After two rounds of kood stronk koffeee and some fun talking about larp, I went back into the kitchen, trying to shake Lotte from trying to climb up my leg to get to the eggs so she could 'help'. NoKey handed out wooden brain-breakers puzzles. The ones with cubes, ropes, and a ring that needs to be pried loose. It was fun reading people's reactions to the puzzles. Finn just could not stop trying to puzzle even when the pancakes were ready. Pasje played with her puzzle while singing along to NoKey playing the electric guitar. Too bad Malor went home before the pancakes because he had slept only 4 hours or so.
After food (I'm glad I had enough pancakes) most people left, leaving NoKey and me in the mess that is moving. We put my computer together and I unpacked some of my clothes and the candles. All in all, we were busy installing computergames and playing them for the rest of the night.
We're really blah now.
