Yesterday I went over to Julliette's. It's always fun to be there. The house is so warm, so much friendly love and a real family feeling flying around and bouncing off the walls. The energy those kids have is amazing.
Anyhow, we copied the Asterix drawings I had on some pattern-paper so Jules could paint them on the kids' windows. We must have looked real funny, lying on the floor, our asses in the air, drawing with two of Lotte's stolen colouring pens. Ofcourse the table was reserved for the kids' colouring!

We had great fun and we cought up on conversation. We had lunch and I met Johan. Jules even invited both Johan and I to help out at Orion, where she works, because they're always looking for new hands to help. They even have an internal studies to become SPW'er. I think.
I'll have to consider that option.

I ate french fries in front of Three Kings, because NoKey has Greek class on Thursday. I didn't even finish that damned movie. I've never seen worse! Americanist pigs. Propaganda. *mutters some more inappropriate things*

So when NoKey came home I was working on Sniffer's hood of her costume. I took an old fleece hood I put together a while back and just altered it. It looks good. Especially the bit of fox tail that hangs about bum-height. I'll wear the brown jeans I made for Anna because they're so damn comfy, and I still need to figure out a sweater/tunic. I don't really want Sniffer to wear a cloak but I don't think I'll have any choice since April nights are very cold still. At least I might do without when I'm outside during the day.

When NoKey and I were in bed we snuggled up and just talked. About the move and the funeral. Mostly about the move. Next week Malor will come over and we'll drive to Veenendaal to grab a lot of the boxes I put there, ready to be hauled here. I hope NoKey will be able to be here that Friday afternoon to help carry the boxes upstairs. Up three flights of stairs. We also talked about the clothes cupboard. And finances. How much rent, and how much for electra and how much for groceries. We need a shared bank account. All this was very frightening to me when I had no idea how much it was and how we'd deal with it. But now that we talked about it I feel much better.

This morning I slept a lot, then called Pasje to catch up. It seemed like we only called eachother to cancel meetings lately, so it was good letting her know what was going on. She gave me the sizes for one of the assignments I have for Dolle Griet so I'll finish that today so I can give the skirt to Pasje tomorrow for transport to Asticia. Pasje also gave me a new assignment: a magician's robe, with standing collar. It'll be a bit of work to get the collar to remain standing up but if the velvet she bought is strong enough it shouldn't be a problem. I hope to finally get some money in from Dolle Griet. I still need to pay for Shiverz, and I put some saving's money into DG I'd like to see back.

SPW? As in Sociaal Pedagogisch Werk? As in intramurale hulpverlening?
That's hard work, but it can also be fun and rewarding work.
I think you may like that. And getting a degree while working doesn't sound bad.
That is worth thinking about.

When I work on clothing, I often end up sitting in the position you mention, and it gives me the worst muscle aches! (In my butt, of all places...). The floor is the biggest flat surface we have though, and often these dresses are just too big to be traced and cut on a table.

Cloaks are often the easy solution if you need something warm to wear. Other options would be a coat with or without sleeves, or a poncho type of garment. You can actually get these to look pretty fancy with a bit of trim, and some different types of wrapping/closures. I don't know if you have it, but Katherine Strand Holkeboer's book about theatrical costumes has some pretty good ideas for simple clothes that still have that wow factor. If you don't have it, I could bring it with me when we go to the Mucha thing.

That'd be great. We bake pancakes afterwards for the people helping out!

For the collar, you might try to find if you can find the stiffer version of 'vlieseline'. It is stiff enough to stand up on itself, but unfortunately I haven't actually seen it anywhere in the Netherlands myself, yet.

My mother still has a bit lying around, if you're really desperate (it's mine, actually, but I haven't had any reason to pick it up yet).
