Feb. 18th, 2004 01:15 pmI'll be going back to Veenendaal today. The big question is: when?
I'm pondering about staying for dinner. I'd hate to miss broccoli and pommes duchesse, and staying for dinner would solve the lack of supplies in Veenendaal.
Dad called me last night. Hans and Femmie, his brother and sis-in-law, might be coming over on Saturday. Since that is not sure yet I asked him whether he could let me know when that was sure. And he replied "Well, of course you can call us since you also have a telephoooone". So childish. I think he tried to imply that I never called him. Well, last Friday NoKey and I dropped in at Detty's work. In truth, I don't have a lot to tell him. I did get my p, and haven't told him yet, but telling him this joyous news might raise a lot of questions on what I want to do with my life.
If I had known that I didn't want to continue with school back in September I'd have less of a problem of course. It would have saved me about 1400 euro. But there's no use crying over spilt milk. Now, I'm stuck with a gap of three months. My contract for the room in Veenendaal will end in or around June, and until then I will have to pay the rent. Before that time I'll move my stuff to Rotterdam. Slowly, just bits at a time. I'll have to write to Tiscali to end that just recently acquired ADSL, and I might be stuck with paying for it a few months after I move out, but that can not be helped, I fear. I entered that contract when I had no idea that my contract would end, when I had the promise that the contract could be renewed for another year. If there's anything those christians in Ede and Veenendaal are bad at, it's communicating. The real-estate guy never actually did give his consent, but Reini and the lot of them have interpreted his "maybe's" as promises.
I've also observed that I need to do more with art. Since I bought that gouache at a discount it's been dusting and more dusting away. A lot of Elfwood contests, including a DEW contest about LOTR are very tempting, but I don't think I might be good enough. Hence, I need more practice.

Date: 2004-02-18 04:54 am (UTC)It's a great song!
Btw: that list of songs you were going to send me... will it still arrive? ;)
Not that I have too much time to do much with it - I'm buried under work!

Date: 2004-02-18 12:46 pm (UTC)Mmh...you shouldn't let that deter you. Making something for the contest could be fun, and you'd probably get more motivated from making art for the contest than from making art to practise for making art for the contest. This just seems like a good opportunity to get some more practise in....if you have the time, that is. Then afterwards you'll have a freshly honed set of skills to do other fun stuff with.
Then again, that's just my opinion.

Date: 2004-02-18 04:14 pm (UTC)Might save ya a lot of needless carrying.
Re: Moving stuff
Date: 2004-02-19 12:12 am (UTC)The main problem so far with moving stuff out is that we need to clear space here. You've seen the computer-room...before we can fit my desk (huuuuuge) and computer in here and build a nice network there's a lot of cleaning & clearing to be done.
But I'll keep your offer in mind and might even take you up on it one day.
