A walk in the snow
Jan. 1st, 2004 08:41 pmWe went for a walk in the snow. In this concrete suburbia there's a little park nearby, where NoKey and I sometimes bash eachother (though not anymore for a while - my back and all). I got soaked in snow, just because I wanted to. Standing underneath a tree while kicking it, and then letting the flakes rain down on you. I love that. I just love snow. That's probably me...
Anyways, we stopped and skipped part of the path to walk to a weeping willow tree. We trod on un-touched snow, and the sounds of snow crumbling beneath our feet...well... do the words "Feels Like Heaven" ring a bell?
The cold crept up my spine and settled in my muscles, which was a big bummer. I never ever (well, unless I get avalanched or something) get cold when I'm outside in the snow. Even last year, with The Dragon, outside in snowballfights, rolling around in the snow, that was fun! As long as your sweater and jeans aren't soaked, I can take a lot of cold.
But not tonight, apparantly. Now this new fancy coat isn't half as cold-resistant as my old orange South Pole-resistant skijacket, but still.
I'm pretty bummed out that my back is playing up again. We were only outside for 30 minutes or so, and still I feel very old when I get back inside. It just puts a bit of a dampening field on the whole "YAY SNOW!" thing.
Still love snow. I just can't really enjoy it as much like this.
Anyway, too bad we didn't get the USB device working on this kernel thingy, [set mode=semi-geek] otherwise I'd have pictures of snow for you. I took 25 pics today of cats, cats, and snow, more snow, and snow.
We're gonna watch Cube, some movie or other.
Oh and the Rob Kamphues (Dutch) thing on LARP was pretty funny!
