The X-mess [the conclusion]
Dec. 26th, 2003 04:48 pmX-mess at Barendrecht with NoKey's family was fun. It was - in a way - the best celebration of X-mess this year (until we got home anyway). So homely, so close. A real family thing.
We played the Colonists Of Catan game, which was great fun. It takes a while to start up, but I've always enjoyed playing it. I even got the computer game, which might have been a reason why I won.
After the game we cut vegetables while sitting at the kitchen table, and enjoyed discussing the thinness of the slices. Tess really knew what she was doing, NoKey handled the largest knife, and I patiently focused on cutting thin slices of paprika and cucumber. After that we all cooked our own food in a fish-only gourmet in tiny pans (2 p.p.) And after washing up the mess, we flambe'd cherries. I love fire...thanks to
randallsilver even more, and though I didn't enjoy the taste of flambe'd cherries, I enjoyed setting them on fire.
Vanilla Ice Cream Is Very Yummy Indeed.
Then we had coffee and chatted a bit more, before NoKey and I missed our bus and got a ride back to the realms of Rotterdamned.
I got the recipe for the Very Yummy Olive-Oregano bread. Go me!
Once at home, we cuddled a lot, enjoyed eachother. Loved eachother a lot too. Enjoyed spending time together. Time off from work isn't much fun if you don't enjoy it. And what better way to enjoy christmas than enjoying eachother's company to the fullest?
I felt peaceful, and still do. I love spending Christmas here. And the lights in the Xmas guitar shine.
