Ah...I've spent the last two days in this room. It's great, having my computer up here. But I've not just been busy on my computer. I've worked on some projects as well. As soon as my cds were settled and the ordners found a nice little place next to the desk, I unpacked my sewing machine. Now I still have the big plan about making a wide skirt from those 15 square meters of fabric I bought for 10 euro...but I wasn't really in the mood to start drawing out a pattern. So, instead, I pulled out the 'work in progress - projects - bag" and did some finalizing work on the Jackie Kennedy dress [only needs a hem now] and the Jane of the Jungle outfit. The latter one proved fruitless though: I have lost a considerable amount of weight in the hips, and now the skirt I had made before didn't fit at all anymore, instead it looked ridiculous on me.

So I decided to make the Jane Of The Jungle outfit according to the sketches I made in my dummy: cleavage as a waterfall and a v-shaped string. And to be honest, I never suspected making lingerie could be this hard!
I also fixed my red nightie, and made a black fleece sweater, but as always I'm having bigtime arguments with the collar. So I decided: 'fuck it! Be ugly then'. Until this morning. I woke up at five am, with an idea. (I didn't sleep much after that either and got up to watch Hysteria at half past seven). And I just finished the sweater. It now has a hood, and is therefore more warm than before. Whee! I just can see myself walking around in it at larps.

So, that's one down, one to go. I want to make the dark blue one with wide sleeves and a v-shaped neck, but that will have to wait. First I'll make the pattern for that royal-blue skirt. I've bought a pattern for a top to go with that skirt, as well as two other patterns. I was in dire need of a good pattern for jeans, because the pants I have for Anna have definitely gone beyond repair. The fabric was too thin for tight jeans anyway, and I'd already ripped them a couple of times before, but now it's sad....they will die a lonesome death in the wastebasket.
I also bought a pattern I had bought before, but somehow I lost it. A tiny bag with three or four patterns in it: the leather dress pattern, the flamenco dress pattern and some others too, me so bummed. I lost that bag, turned the house upside down for it, all of my bags with rest pieces of cloth, but it's gone, and I fear for good.
So since I had already bought something like 8 meters of satin for the flamenco dress (red and black...mmm) I thought I might as well finish it.

"It is the end of all hope / to lose the childhood faith / to be ...someone like me"

But the room is getting along fine as ever. I bought a tupperware storage box for my larp props and found out that besides my two largest cauldrons, a lantern and one wooden plate, everything fits in it. So now my smaller cauldrons, steel mugs, pouches, belts, cow's horn etc. are all stored dust-free in that box. Too bad I have very little cupboard space, otherwise I would be even more happy with my larp gowns, cloaks, and tunics all safe on hangers. Now they are folded, and tucked in a big cardboard box (and I don't mean Ilona). Except for the Elisabeth Gown, that is on a hanger in my cupboard. I love that dress.
Right, that reminds me. I need to study Quenya before December. I'll be attending a premiere of LotR: RotK as Arwen, in my wonderful blue Elisabeth Gown. I'll be so cold, but I'll look cute and wonderful. Memo to me: tiara!

Wish list clothing:
  • Sorceress robe
  • APBR =all purpose black robe which can be used for anything from necromancer to Nazgul.
  • Paladin of Ocenis tunic + cloak.
  • At least 5 more cloaks in various colours, sizes and embroideries just because I'm addicted to making cloaks.
  • APD = all purpose dress, can be used from servant woman to a lesser noble. Dark blue. Detachable gold-embroidered belt. Bell sleeves.
  • Black leather drow matron dress.
  • more corsets, whips, and other weapons.

Right. I'd better start working on my column for Woodworks.

Corsets in themselves are not weapons. They just make your body more of a weapon than it was before. *grin*
