janestarzA lot has happened but I just didn't have the mood to start typing out what happened.
Friday was a joyous day. Erik called me around noon, saying his wife and he were in labour and that Kristel would take over the restaurant for the rest of the evening. With 60 guests you just can't cancel. When I arrived at Gon word was out already: Hanneke and Erik had a son, named David.
In other Gon news, I was glad I was in the kitchen.
So then Saturday, up again at half past ten, market, packing and some more work on the Marius coat. The front and back are all ready now. I'm making progress, I think. At seven, more work at Gon. It was a busy night, somehow I had my hands way full with only four tables, while I should have also tried to help out three other tables. I didn't have any time for that until two of my tables were ready for desserts. But the other tables were really nice, in their own reserved "we're doing really great over here, now skedaddle along, little waitress."-way. Only one table really greeted me with joy and sincere pleasure [something I really like in guests] but maybe that was because I brought them pints of beer. *wink*
I lent Erik my digital camera so he could send his mom in the hospital some pictures of David. In return, he lend me 3 cds with his selection of the Top 2000 of All Times. Songs from Blondie, Alice Cooper, John Lennon, Aretha Franklin, etc. The good old stuff. Though half of the songs I don't even know who's the artist so if you have a clue, help me out there.
Today's the day of the room-switch! It's strange, leaving the small room behind. But then again, the prospect of actually being able to turn my ass around in my room is actually quite pleasing.
So in about ten minutes, I've finished my coffee, and I'm going to the Klomp to pick up a lovely man, nick-named NoKey, and we're going to…do…stuff.
