Various School Stuffsels
Sep. 23rd, 2003 02:46 pmSo the class professional magazines sucked ass once again. It was grand in all its boredom. But I did get reminded of the stuff I need to do for school. And the stuff I needed to do last year. Luckily, miss Baak (prolly Mrs in this place but then again I don't really care, do I?) was friendly enough to show me who still needed to hand in stuff for their "vrije studiepunt" for last year. Only a dozen people passed the vrije studiepunt thingy and maybe double that have actually handed in a plan for action. I myself am planning to do these things in my vacation.
Because next week there won't be any classes for me. I am also planning to study for my Propedeuse (but we all know what that means). I only need that one last test I failed so often already I actually am afraid of it.
And I'm not easily scared by things.
In any case, what I need to do this week is even more scary. For the magazine we have to make with a group I have to write two things: "spotted in the media" - a columnlike thingy about the theme (30 years of tabloids) and how this theme appeared in the media. And most newspaper archives on the internet nowadays (at least the Dutch ones) are closed, viewable only to paying members. Heh. I don't have a member and I'm not paying for websites.
At all.
The other thing I have to make is a sort of Timeline-photo article about paparazzi. Which I can find hardly any info about. I need to find info TODAY because my deadline is Thursday 1200. I hate deadlines. But they're crucial. I know how important it is to be in time for your deadline. *smirk* That may just be the most important thing I learned so far from Sword & Ink.
Articles slowly start coming in for Sword & Ink's October issue, that is great. I think the editors are coming to terms with their chief editor, or maybe they feel sorry for me. I scolded and shouted at Mr Finn, NoKey, and Maglok because of the stress I had with last month's issue. But the Scot already handed in his column, and our new artist (
coen) has been overly active indeed. Gustav asked me today what I wanted him to write. The kid is annoying but he also is proud to be able to be a part of it. So I let him be a part of it and try not to change too much about his writing.
I'm off to Google stuff for school.
